Alex Masini Minority Report

A Totally protective government is a government that shelters you and protects you from everything
by restricting what you can do and restricting your rights in order to protect its citizens from harm.
An example of this from the movie is Pre Crime arrests people from thinking about murder before they
did it, they were protecting people by taking away the people's right to have free thoughts. We should
not have a totally protective government is our society because it takes rights away from people, rights
that America was founded on. Also we wouldn't be free to do things because the government would stop
us to “protect us”, and quality of life would severely drop if the police and government were stopping
us from doing so many things, being ourselves, and being free. If we had a totally protective government
the Chicago murder rate would be much lower and there would not be nearly as much murders because
people would be arrested before they came close to killing someone.

1. A totally protective government is a government that goes out of its way to protect its citizens, but this can be a little to much in some cases. This term was applied in the movie through pre crime. It was a way that the government was able to protect its citizens but in the process took away a lot of their freedom.
2. I don't think this should be a part of our society because it has serious implications on our freedom. I personally wouldn't like the government having the ability to arrest me based on a thought for something I haven't done and I don't think that is an unpopular opinion.
3. One example of this is when the national guard or military is brought in to restore order. This is usually when protests get very large and the government needs to restore their control. Recent President Trump tweeted that he wanted to bring the military to Chicago to stop the violence but it was quickly shot down.

I believe the Sharks are better than Marcus Lemonis from the Profit because the multiple investors have more experience in their individual type of business. Each of the Sharks are developed in their specific department. This gives an entrepreneur a better choice when finding the best fit for their product or idea. Personally, I would rather work with Daymond John because he is a successful, talented, hard working man who specializes in the clothing business. He will be a perfect investor for my product because I have created a type of clothing that can change one's body temperature. Daymond will be able to invest money to get my production rates to raise. Also,  Daymound has many contacts. He will be able to converse with people to help sell and advertise my product. Daymond is the last piece I need grow my company. One major difference between Marcus Lemonis and the Sharks is Marcus actually goes into a business and gives them a “makeover”. While the Sharks only invest in businesses that are already successful.

As an aspiring entrepreneur, I feel that Shark Tank is a favorable platform for entrepreneurs to participate on. Shark tank requires entrepreneurs to go to a closed setting where potential investors are given your business plan, your equity, your finances, etc. This forces the entrepreneurs to understand their business and know how the Sharks can help their business. On the Marcus Lemoine show, he is going to failing business’ and trying to fix their existing model because it has already failed. For a positive growth of the entrepreneurs business with the least amount of turmoil, I feel that Shark Tank accomplishes this better.

For my business, SES, I feel that Mark Cuban would be the best investor in the company. He has a tendency to inject capital while allowing the founders of the company retain a majority stake. This would suit our business model the best, therefore leading us to the conclusion that Mark Cuban is the best option for our company at SES. The difference between Mark Cuban and Marcus Lemoine is that Marcus would try to streamline our business model trying to make it more profitable. However, our business model is set in a way where we do not need it changed, rather we need capital from investors to get the gears turning. I can do this Mark Cuban and is why I’d choose him.

I like Mark Cuban from from shark tank better than Marcus Lemonis. Mark Cuban seems to be more developed and have more experience in his field than Marcus Lemonis. Also shark tank seems all around better because from the start they are looking to invest. So they are eager to hear about what you can do, and there are multiple investors so you can really find the best fit for your product. I also like how on shark tank, if they don't what they see from the beginning they don't waste their time. However, Marcus Lemonis is also good at what he does because he looks at the company and gets to know who he might be working with. And after everything he invests. Another big difference is Marcus helps businesses that are failing and tries to help them. And shark tank would not invest in failing businesses, they invest is ones that are already doing well, and they make a deal that the person trying to sell their product. And the person selling the product can either take it or leave it. I would work with Mark Cuban because he specializes in sports and my product is a running shoe. I feel like he would be good at sponsoring my product and could assist me well in expanding my product since he is very well known and could help me with my finances. For example, how much I should spend on my shoe and how much I should sell it for.

I would rather work with Marcus Lemonis because he is very hands on, he comes into businesses personally and tries to work it out. Whats not to like about the guy, he's a self-made millionaire. I also feel like he knows what he's talking about in terms of promotion, price, the place to set up and finding the right people to do the things that need to get done, basically everything in the 5 P's of marketing. I choose him over any of the sharks from Shark Tank because his "financial might" and negotiation skills are just superior to all of the sharks. His way of going into businesses with a goal and coming out with that goal being accomplished. He's got the style, the walk, the talk, and the money which attracts me to work with him. I know me and him would become good business partners.
